About Kansas NOW

Kansas NOW is a grassroots organization consisting of almost 1,000 politically active women and men. Our membership makes us one of the largest active women’s organizations in the state. The state organization supports the various chapters that make up our organization, and among many other things, supports a lobbyist in order to maintain a strong presence in Topeka on legislation of concern to our membership.

NOW Chapters in Kansas

Lawrence NOW-Lawrence NOW has been actively involved in fundraising for the KS NOW lobbyist, participated in Roe V Wade and Lobby days at the Capitol, and has worked numerous times in coalition with other organizations to effect change for Kansas women. Topeka NOW-Although the Capitol City has had a chapter for several years, it has only recently become active again. Topeka NOW volunteers are actively working to rebuild the chapter, and have also actively fundraised for the state lobbyist. Wichita NOW-Ever a force to be reckoned with, Wichita NOW has raised amazing amounts of money to support the KS NOW lobbyist. They have also successfully hosted regional conferences in Wichita, regularly reached out to local area college students, worked in coalition with other organizations, and have done everything from host a Words of Choice event to develop the “Thank a Feminist” campaign.
